As cities continue to grow, the need for intelligent, data-driven infrastructure becomes increasingly critical. Arcriald Limited partnered with a city authority to deliver a Smart City pilot project within the Central Business District of Enugu.

The Challenge

The city faced growing traffic congestion, rising public energy costs, and limited real-time visibility into urban operations. Existing systems operated in silos, making it difficult to respond quickly to incidents or optimize resources.

Our Solution

Arcriald designed and implemented an integrated Smart City framework combining IoT, renewable energy, data analytics, and secure communications. Traffic and environmental sensors were deployed across strategic locations to collect real-time data. Adaptive traffic signal systems were introduced to optimize vehicle flow during peak hours.

To reduce operating costs, we installed solar-powered microgrids to support street lighting, surveillance systems, and communication nodes. A centralized operations dashboard was developed, enabling city officials to monitor conditions, respond to incidents, and make informed planning decisions.

Results Achieved

The pilot delivered measurable impact within months. Traffic congestion in monitored corridors reduced by over 20%, while public energy costs dropped by approximately 25%. Emergency response times improved significantly due to real-time visibility and alerts.

The success of the pilot led to approval for expansion into additional districts, demonstrating how technology—when properly integrated—can meaningfully improve urban life.
